PROJECTS
Coke Dubbing-Aamir Khan
Well, the year started with when Aamir khan stuck in Delhi when he
was shooting or Rang de basanti, and at the same time he had to dub
for a coke commercial (The Mannu Bhabhi campaign by Prasoon
Joshi). So our studio was hired and the coke commercial dubbing was
done in an 8 hour stretch with the director and prasoon. It was
fun,...got to see how our own Indian actors dubbed the double
role, since Aamir had to dub as himself and also as mannu bhabhi.Good
Experience.
Guru-Dubbing for Film
Mani Ratnam directed film Guru,was
in the last stages of final production when the studio got the
project for dubbing a 10 minutes sequence by Roshan seth. The
dubbing session lasted for 8 hours. We were given the film on Beta
and we dumped the same on to Pro Tools for production
purposes.
Dubbing for documentary for
Orissa -
Acclaimed Welsh actor John Rhys-Davies graduated from the
University of East Anglia and is probably best known to film
audiences for his roles in the blockbuster hits Raiders of the Lost
Ark (1981) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). He has
also had leading roles in Victor/Victoria (1982), The Living
Daylights (1987) and King Solomon's Mines (1985).Lord
of the Rings (Gimmily-2004),came to our studio for dubbing a
documentary produced by his friend Amanda. We were also surprised
but the project went on smoothly. The project hardly lasted 7 days
with the actor dubbing for one day
Dubbing for Hollywood,Project “Battle
Star Gallactica”,
This was an exciting project.The
director was sitting in LA Hollywood and was monitoring the session
via phone, listening to every take on phone. At that we didn't have
broadline famous in India,so the only option was to listen on the
phone. It was an 8 hour project and James challis, kept on giving his
repeated performances on the phone and the recording on
protools with the film sync, the recorded pro tools session was then
sent across to Los Angeles ,where they utilized the session of
dubbing. Kshitij Studios has a credit in the DVD for the same
UK ,Project Documentary on
"Indian Elephants”
Taking the Internet usage to it's
limits in live monitoring, we used Skype software this time for the
Director sitting in United Kingdom listening to each and every take
given by Mr Roshan Seth. The director could talk to Roshan directly
and he could listen to Roshan clearly for the dubbing process to
carry on.It was very interesting as no delay happened and the
project was finished very smoothly
Black Friday-Pre-sequencing
Background Score -
Indian ocean was given the mammoth
task to score the original background score for the 3 hour film by
Anurag Kashyab, produced by Mid Day and Jhammu Sikand. The film was
based on the 1992 Bombay blasts. The band sequenced the background
score through vocals and other live and sample instruments for the
film, for which we also used some pre-sequenced grooves ,also used
were various vst instruments like absynth e.t.c.Both PC and Mac were
running in tandem. On PC we were running most of the VST instruments
and on mac,Protools ran with film in sync, recording all the live
tracks, together with the dialogues. The studio was hired nearly for
a month and a half with Anurag visiting the studio occasionally for
checking up on activities. The final recording and mixing was done
in Mumbai where further work and a Band song was being recorded.
Shunaya-Song production for a
upcoming Hindi feature film
Indian Ocean is yet again given a
film to score one ten minute song. The song is recorded through using
only live instruments including live drums for the session. The
studio equipped itself with new Preamps for the drum kit and other
live instruments. The final mix has gone to UK for mastering.

working for 5 days 24 x 7 .In one studio the music tracks were being
recorded, in another the sound design was being done and in yet
another video post production facility was being utilized for
editing and finalizing the video. The format was DV ,while the
dump of the 15 DV tapes were being done in one studio, in the other
